Rebecca has been camping in our bed almost every night this week. We've been taking the easy way out and not insisting that she sleeps in her own bed. She falls asleep on our bed and sometimes we carry her back into her cot but other times we don't bother.
She seems to sleep a lot better when she is in our bed and doesn't wake up in the middle of the night so both Mandy and me get more sleep.
Otherwise it would be really tiring with Kenneth also waking up. I just hope this doesn't mean she is permanently expecting to sleep with us!
It is quite fun having her in our bed sleeping over and waking up next to her in the morning. So easy to lean over and give her a gig or a kiss.
I just hope this doesn't give us problems later down the road though!

Rebecca's 2nd Birthday!
It's Rebecca's 2nd birthday and mum, dad, Sharon, Eric, Danielle and Sophia, and Celeste came to Penang to stay with us for a few days. Rebecca was so excited to see her cousins and have a house full of people. It was fun watching them play together.
Everyone arrived on Thursday the 16th but unfortunately I had to fly to Singapore for the day so I only got home in the evening. Sharon was probably boarding the plane as I landed in Singapore!
Somehow we all managed to fit into the house. Rebecca of course had to have her own room so everyone else had to share. Eric and dad slept in their favourite room.... The TV room!
We celebrated Rebecca's birthday on Saturday the 18th since everyone was leaving on her actual birthday. Since we already had our hands full with 3 kids running wild we didn't invite any of Rebecca's friends over this year. But anyway aunty Anna got her a happy birthday hairband on her actual birthday.
We finally got Rebecca to say she is 2 years old. Before this age kept saying she is 21! And she blew out the candles without any problems. The week before she wouldn't blow out the candles in church on Easter sunday!
The 3 children had so much fun having their bubble bath in the bathtub. It was never a problem getting them to have their baths!

Three Little Monkeys Swinging from a Tree
Hai Boey Restaurant, Gertak Sanggul, Friday April 17th
We decided to go for an early dinner to Hai Boey so that we could get back home earlyish and put the kids into bed. First time all of us could go out for dinner, including Kenneth! The three girls had a great time on the swings which were tied to this huge tree.
Kenneth didn't fuss and was quite happy to sleep through it all. Rebecca has started to eat the same food as us, so she enjoyed the claypot fish, the chicken, tofu with seaweed and also the batter on the deep fried mince/aubergine..... which she called biscuit!
Even Grandpa had a good time on the swing! The weather wasn't too hot or humid so it was great to sit on the swings by the sea.

7th April 2009
Took Rebecca to see the opthalmologist today to get her eyes checked out. The doctor said her left eye sometimes wanders off to the side when she is looking into the distance. Will need to take her back in 2 weeks to see if it is due to short sightedness. Or if it's not short sightedness then we need to discuss with the doctor what to do.
Then when I picked Rebecca up this evening, Anna mentioned Rebecca bit Andrea again! Poor Andrea. I could see the bite mark on her hand. Hope Rebecca stops her biting habits.
Need to teach her how to deal with her frustrations when she gets a bit older.
Some good news.... Kenneth is now able to go to sleep on his own without needing to be soothed. We left him to cry it out a few times and he now seems to be able to settle himself. Hope it lasts!

21st December 2008
Rebecca had aunty Anna all to herself this week because Ashley and andrea went to HK for a holiday so she got to go out to the market, had dim sum, queensbay mall and also to youth park! Daddy was in china so she kept saying daddy in KL, back Friday... Which is what I told her on Monday! She has an amazing memory.
Sunday 21 Dec in Borders, Rebecca said "lawrence, are you sleeping??" when Mandy was trying to call me and I didn't answer!

Palm Sunday & ferry outing
Sunday April 5th 2009
Palm Sunday
Was quite pleased with myself that i managed to get to church with rebecca for 10.05am so only 5 mins late! when i got into the church however, i realised no one was there! it was palm sunday so everyone had gathered in the hall for the blessing of the palms... and mass would only start at 10.30am. so for once we were actually early!
So we headed off to the hall and found a nice leafy palm so that rebecca could hold it. Once we got into the hall and rebecca saw this huge empty space she went crazy and starting running to the centre of the hall and back again, waving the palm at everyone. soon she found some other children and started running around with them as well, so that kept her going for a good 15 mins!
Penang Ferry
I suddenly got the urge to take rebecca on the ferry one day as we were reading her book about trains and i realised she hadn't been on a train or a boat.
So we decided to go for a drive with rebecca and kenneth, and hopefully get them both to sleep in the car.
We finally worked out that we had to put rebecca's baby seat in the front, whilst mandy sits in the rear with kenneth so that mandy can tend to kenneth whilst rebecca sits in front. this only works in the 2 older cars that we have which do not have airbags.
so we went out in the old BMW today - rebecca was sat in the front passenger seat for our outing today and she was thrilled! she was adjusting the aircon vents, trying to get her hands on the gear stick and just so pleased to be sitting in the front for a change.
rebecca managed to get some sleep along the way... until kenneth woke up and started crying.. so she got about 20 mins. we decided to cross penang bridge first and head to butterworth to catch the ferry back to penang, to avoid having to face the penang bridge toll if we went in the opposite direction.

once on the ferry, kenneth fell asleep again and was oblivious to everything, so i guess he won't remember the ferry ride! rebecca was busy waving at all the other ferries coming by, and looking at the shimmering sea... she kept saying look at the lights.
