Palm Sunday & ferry outing

Sunday April 5th 2009

Palm Sunday

Was quite pleased with myself that i managed to get to church with rebecca for 10.05am so only 5 mins late! when i got into the church however, i realised no one was there! it was palm sunday so everyone had gathered in the hall for the blessing of the palms... and mass would only start at 10.30am. so for once we were actually early!

So we headed off to the hall and found a nice leafy palm so that rebecca could hold it. Once we got into the hall and rebecca saw this huge empty space she went crazy and starting running to the centre of the hall and back again, waving the palm at everyone. soon she found some other children and started running around with them as well, so that kept her going for a good 15 mins!

Penang Ferry

I suddenly got the urge to take rebecca on the ferry one day as we were reading her book about trains and i realised she hadn't been on a train or a boat.

So we decided to go for a drive with rebecca and kenneth, and hopefully get them both to sleep in the car.

We finally worked out that we had to put rebecca's baby seat in the front, whilst mandy sits in the rear with kenneth so that mandy can tend to kenneth whilst rebecca sits in front. this only works in the 2 older cars that we have which do not have airbags.

so we went out in the old BMW today - rebecca was sat in the front passenger seat for our outing today and she was thrilled! she was adjusting the aircon vents, trying to get her hands on the gear stick and just so pleased to be sitting in the front for a change.

rebecca managed to get some sleep along the way... until kenneth woke up and started crying.. so she got about 20 mins. we decided to cross penang bridge first and head to butterworth to catch the ferry back to penang, to avoid having to face the penang bridge toll if we went in the opposite direction.

once on the ferry, kenneth fell asleep again and was oblivious to everything, so i guess he won't remember the ferry ride! rebecca was busy waving at all the other ferries coming by, and looking at the shimmering sea... she kept saying look at the lights.
